New Crochet Easter Bunny

I just created another version of the crochet Easter bunny.  This time, I followed more closely the colors listed in the original pattern, but I changed the dress a little, and added a "hair" bow that was my own design!  I also put buttons on for eyes and nose, and added a pretty bow on the dress with a button center.  I'm really enjoying making stuffed animals!  She's for sale in my etsy shop:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/suefern643.

Easter

I am now crocheting toys.  I guess they are referred to as Amigurumi, but I don't know what that means exactly.  Here are the first two toys I've ever made!  I'm so proud of them!  :0)  I got both of these patterns from some vintage books that my mother gave to me.  You can purchase either of these in my store at http://www.etsy.com/shop/suefern643!

Marine Corps Kids

I just found this link and since I have a son who is a new Marine, I think it's important to share it!  http://marinecorpskids.blogspot.com/2007/07/operation-marine-corps-kids.html

It's a great charity that allows people to send handmade donations for Marines' children when their parents are deployed.

Crochet crossover toddler shirt

This is a toddler shirt that I crocheted, which crosses over the chest.  I made this during the Superbowl game.  (I was rooting for the Steelers-wah!)  I think it would look SO CUTE over a sleeveless Easter dress!  I wish I had a little toddler girl.  I just LOVE making toddler clothing! It's in my store http://www.etsy.com/shop/suefern643

My first dress

I finished my first crochet toddler dress and I am so proud of it!  Here's a pic.  I'm putting it in my store today!http://www.etsy.com/shop/suefern643

AC Moore

Today I went to ACMoore and they have some great sales on yarn.  There is a free pattern booklet from Bernat hanging in every isle and on the back of the booklet is a $1.00 coupon for any type of Bernat yarn.  The Bernat naturals (alpaca, etc.) are all on sale too, for $3 for $10, so I got a skein of alpaca for $2.33.  Can't beat that!

I LOVE bags of mill ends. It's the cheapest way to buy cotton yarn, which is my favorite to work with, when making baby and toddler items.  I found many bags of purple mill ends cotton yarn (YAY!-just in time for Easter!)

On top of all this money-saving, I had a $10 coupon from AC Moore from their points program. So I'm a happy camper today!  Now to get crocheting!

I have recently started making clothing, which has been something that I have never felt confident enough to try.  Now I'm addicted!  So I'm going to be making and listing some pretty dresses and sweaters and hat sets for Easter.  Keep your eye on my website and my etsy shop!

Getting started (finally)

So I'm finally going to start blogging on here.  I've been sick for a while and haven't been able to spend any time figuring out this "blog stuff".  So later today, I will be blogging.  Not now though.
